Member Nicholas Valdez has joined the EFA Board as treasurer. Many thanks to Nick for volunteering to take this position. Thanks also to the other members who answered the call for volunteers and were willing to serve the organization.

Nick writes that he is a developmental editor in Petaluma, CA. Before becoming a freelancer and joining the EFA, he was a lecturer with continuing appointment in the Merritt Writing Program at UC Merced. He taught writing in the university setting for over a decade and holds a Ph.D. in English from UC Riverside, where he specialized in American Literature, Film and Visual Culture, and Rhetorical Theory. These days, he works one-on-one with authors to improve the focus, organization, and expression of their manuscripts. Nick is both excited and proud to serve the EFA as its new treasurer.

Members at Large Luann Reed-Siegel and Tia Ross will head up the Events subcommittee. Member at Large Brian Duchaney will take over editorship of the What’s New ebulletin from Luann Reed-Siegel.

Much appreciation to these and all of the Board members for their efforts on behalf of the EFA.
