Currently, I work as a co-agent at Serendipity Literary Agency, where I was once the design & editorial assistant for CEO Regina Brooks. My responsibilities encompassed co-agenting, online media, editorial support, and client development. I led many of our visual projects—designing marketing materials and book proposals—and designed and launched a new version of the company’s website. On the editorial front, I reviewed submissions, researched and acquired clients, fashioned editor lists and pitches, and collaborated with authors on revising their projects.
Before starting at Serendipity, I had the opportunity to intern at numerous companies in the publishing industry, including Foundry Literary + Media, Sourcebooks Publishing, and Corvisiero Literary Agency. I worked for Learned Owl Bookshop as their Events and Social Media Manager, a catering company as a server, and a highly regarded wedding planner at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I graduated from NYU’s Summer Publishing Institute in 2018 and recently earned my MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from the New School.
When it comes to my interests, as my rule of thumb, if the book is good, I’ll read it, regardless of genre! Although children’s literature is where my heart is. I’m especially well-versed in middle-grade and young adult. Anything by Jason Reynolds is fantastic, House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune had me feeling like a kid again in the best way, and I personally believe the Strange the Dreamer duology by Laini Taylor is severely underrated.
