Sarah Banks

Spring Tide

I am the Owner of Spring Tide, a freelance copyediting and writing business. My expertise includes over twenty years in roles including editing, writing, research, and proofreading. Having lived in the US and UK, I am highly qualified to work in US or UK English. I have a Master’s degree in Criminology and extensive work experience in that field. My experience includes working for academic, non-profit, and government institutions. With a background in languages (BA Hons in European Studies including French Language major), I can readily support ESL (English as a second language). I passed the copyediting certificate at the University of California with an A grade average. I subscribe to online style guides, dictionaries, and editing software to ensure my editing is accurate and up-to-date.

An author can give only so much attention to their work before being blind to their mistakes. My objective eye will provide a professional review of your work.

What could I do that would benefit your work?

  • Ensure correct spelling, grammar, hyphenation, capitalization, abbreviations, formatting, and punctuation.
  • Put myself in your readers’ position, assess the flow and meaning of your work, and provide clear feedback.
  • Confirm compliance with style guidelines, including checking and formatting citations and references.
  • Provide writing coaching and accountability.

If you have other editorial needs to incorporate, I am happy to discuss them.

Collaborate with me and offer the world a well-crafted text.
