Hi! I’m Samantha. (I also go by Sam.) I’m the freelance editor behind Sam Eng Editorial.
I used to work as a software engineer/computer programmer, but I’ve always preferred human languages to computer ones, as evidenced by my BA in Linguistics (University of California, Berkeley), my completion of the 120-hour Professional Sequence in Editing (UC Berkeley Extension), and my lifelong love for reading, writing, and editing.
Some of my recent editing projects include novels, short stories, serialized novellas, résumés, medical school applications, memoirs, and personal essays. I’ve worked with traditional publishers as well as private clients, including Harvard English graduates, Deloitte consultants, software engineers, and nontraditional medical students accepted to T20 medical schools (including ESL writers).
