M Parker Editing
As an offbeat freelance editor with over fifteen years of experience, I’ve worked with over 200 authors and am a two-time Hugo Award finalist. I specialize in speculative fiction, memoirs, and self-help materials, and works I’ve edited have gone on to be winners of or finalists for the Angoulême, Eisner, Aurealis, Aurora, Locus, and Norma K. Hemming Awards. When it comes to fiction, I’m available for editing flash fiction, short stories, novellas, and full novels in a variety of genres, including science fiction, fantasy, YA, romance, horror, and erotica. I offer developmental editing, combined line and copyediting, and proofreading, along with sensitivity/authenticity reading and manuscript evaluations. I am tremendously invested in supporting writers who are typically marginalized by the publishing industry. Stories that feature diverse characters, including BIPOC characters, LGBTQIA+ characters, disabled characters, etc, are of special interest to me; #ownvoices content is particularly welcome! (I myself am queer, trans, disabled, and neurodivergent.) I’m here to support you and help you polish your work until it shines.
Please visit my website for my rates and full descriptions of the services I offer. It also has my contact form, which is the best way to make an initial inquiry.
