Moore Editing
I’m Michael Moore, a freelance medical editor and copyeditor.
I provide medical and scientific editing of journal articles, textbooks, clinical trial protocols and regulatory documents, etc., following the AMA Manual of Style, NLM Style Guide, CSE Manual, or your required style guide or in-house stylebook. You might know this as proofreading, quality control (QC’ing), or copyediting.
I also I provide copyediting of American English following The Chicago Manual of Style and Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary and copyediting of British English following the New Oxford Style Manual and the New Oxford Dictionary for Writers and Editors, though I will follow whichever style guide you require.
My work includes having collaborated with researchers on projects such as editing research manuscripts for peer review in medical journals (e.g., Alzheimer’s Research & Therapy and BMC Neurology); genetic medicines clinical trial regulatory protocols for submission to the FDA (US), EMA (EU), and PMDA (Japan); and a patient safety manual for physicians’ medical practices.
My work has ensured these manuscripts exemplify clarity, coherency, consistency, and correctness.
I hold a Certificate in Medical Editing from the American Medical Writers Association and a Certificate in Medical Terminology from Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences, and a Specialized Certificate in Copyediting from UC San Diego Extended Studies. I have also completed study of the AMA Manual of Style with the Editorial Freelancers Association and select modules from the UC San Diego Extended Studies Medical Writing Certificate program, in areas such as clinical trials and regulatory writing.
I serve on SD/PEN’s board of directors as Vice President of Membership Development, and I am also a member of the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA), the American Copy Editors Society (ACES), and the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA).
Please get in touch if you are in need of a positively uncompromising editor.
