Meghan McEnery

I’m a writer, editor, and dramaturg living in Los Angeles, CA. As an editor, I help writers prepare their work for publication by providing developmental editing, copyediting, and proofreading services. I focus on finding language that is concise and grammatically consistent while also honing in on the writer’s voice and protecting the integrity of the piece.

Each editing service I provide is tailored specifically for individual client needs, budget, and timeline. My experience includes books (novels, non-fiction, memoir), screenplays, children’s literature, scholarly articles, dissertations, web content, marketing materials, and grant writing. Resume and client list are available by request.

Because I’m a writer myself, I understand the creative process and the type of support clients need as they develop their work and pursue their goals. When I work on a project, I’m always available to the writer to answer questions, brainstorm ideas, or suggest techniques for getting through the various writing challenges they might face as their project evolves.

I also work as a dramaturg, providing developmental and contextual feedback to playwrights and screenwriters throughout various phases of the production process. Past projects include TheatreSquared, Actors Studio West, Hollywood Fringe Festival, and Arkansas Staged. I’ve worked at New York Film Academy where I provided script feedback to MFA and BFA film students, and taught writing workshops at the University of Arkansas.

I received an MFA in playwriting from the University of Arkansas and a BA in Creative Writing from Webster University. My plays have been produced/presented in the Midwest, Los Angeles, and New York, and I’ve published fiction and poetry in journals including Salt Hill, Wisconsin Review, Jabberwok Review, and Cave Region Review.
