Fresh Ink Book Editing
Fresh Ink Book Editing is Maya Rock’s freelance developmental book editing business. I take manuscripts to the next level, readying them to be seen by agents. I specialize in romance, YA, thriller, literary, memoir, and middle grade. Fresh Ink clients have gone on to publish with the Big Five as well as to have great success self-publishing.
I also assist clients with preparing materials for agents, including query letters and synopses.
Fresh Ink clients receive sensitive and thoughtful editing as well as a former literary agent’s unique insights into how to make a manuscript salable.
PERSONAL BIO OF FOUNDER, MAYA ROCK: After graduating from Princeton University, Maya Rock spent six years at Writers House, a renowned Manhattan literary agency. There, she assisted chairman Al Zuckerman (agent to Ken Follett and Michael Lewis among others) and represented her own clients such as the Harvey Award-nominated Laura Lee Gulledge, YA phenom Bethany Griffin, and Elle magazine’s Heather Wagner.
She left Writers House in 2010 to start Fresh Ink Book Editing, which specializes in developmental editing as well as an array of other services related to book editing, such as query and synopsis development. Clients include Anna Adams, whose indie published YA French Girl series has been a stunning success and Clara Kensie, the author of YA paranormal romance Run to You series, nominated for two RITA Awards. Maya also writes YA novels herself.
