Maureen McGerty, M.A., is an editorial professional specializing in scientific, academic, and health science publishing. She’s gathering steam as a requested copy editor for works of creative non-fiction and fiction. Earlier in her career, her by-line appeared in dailies and magazines, and she has worked as a public relations specialist in the health care industry. Currently serving a third two-year term as an Honorary Director for Detroit Working Writers (DWW), she is a past president (2007-2011), past vice president, former press relations chair, and conference co-chair. Maureen is also vice president of the National Inspirational Role Models Visionaries, Inc. (NIRMV), having received recognition as the “2008 NIRMM Volunteer of the Year.” She is an ELA/ELS tutor for teens and adults. She enthusiastically supports the literary arts.
