Mary Knight Communications

Greetings! I’m a copyeditor, copywriter, ghostwriter, and author of a historical fiction time travel novel, The Sicilian Sorceress. I’m well-versed in the language of all things food, travel, and gardening, and I am open to freelance opportunities.

My educational background includes a culinary education at La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine, a degree in Food and Nutrition, a certificate in English as a Second Language, and a certificate in copyediting from UCSD Extension.

I understand how business works and can translate my experience into the written word. I  owned and operated The Virtuous Olive, a company dedicated to importing only the purest extra virgin olive oil from Puglia, Italy. I trained with the staff at Galantino to deepen my knowledge, which helped me to educate my customers, and formulate and write original recipes using their products.

Currently, I ghostwrite for a public relations firm covering book reviews, travel destinations,  recipe blurbs, gardening, pickleball, restaurants, and more. I’m pursuing a certificate from the EFA in developmental editing and am interested in editing both fiction and nonfiction books.

Writing food (including recipe writing), travel and garden articles have been a huge part of my life for over ten years and I love using my passions to create memorable stories. Copyediting allows me to contribute my knowledge and vast experiences to fine-tune your voice for your specific audience. I’d love to collaborate!
