Editing a book is like solving a mystery; call me your detective.
I take a magnifying glass to your book to search for clues: organizational issues, grammatical errors, dialogue problems, and tense inconsistencies. I compile the evidence, then offer solutions to optimize your writing.
Case closed.

I own CopyKat Editing LLC, a business I started to help independent authors’ books shine. My background has allowed me to gain knowledge in the worlds of forensics, abnormal psychology, and law enforcement, which is why I love editing true crime and crime-thriller-mystery fiction. I’m also a sucker for a romantic plot line.
My nonfiction expertise, aside from true crime, includes memoirs and psychology books. My focus is on YA, New Adult, and Adult; in addition to full-length books, I edit short and flash fiction, novelettes, and novellas. I’m available for ghostwriting in the nonfiction realm. You can see a full list of genres I edit, and those I don’t, here.

SERVICES
I offer the full scope of editing services: developmental editing, copyediting, proofreading, line editing, manuscript critiques, professional beta reading, authenticity reading, and copywriting. Additionally, I provide discounted package options for the author who wants a little bit of everything.
BACKGROUND
Prior to freelancing full-time, I worked for a major financial services company in a copywriting and editing capacity. Now, I dedicate my time to helping indie authors achieve their publishing goals. I hold bachelor’s degrees in criminology and psychology, as well as a professional certificate in copyediting.
