Belmont Editing & Tutoring Services
I am a certified copy editor, book formatter, and ESL tutor committed to creating and maintaining collaborative and respectful client relations.
As a sensitive and detail-oriented copy editor, I am particularly attuned to the nuances of language use and work diligently to ensure that my clients’ written communications are clear, effective, and polished. I go to great lengths to retain my clients’ unique voice and style while also ensuring their work is error-free and meets professional standards. My expertise includes working with a variety of clients, such as college students (all levels), business professionals, and fiction and nonfiction authors. I am well-versed in various style guides, including CMOS, APA, and MLA.
I offer editing (proofreading, copyediting, line editing) to college students (all levels), business professionals, and fiction and nonfiction authors. I edit the following types of writing:
• College admissions essays/personal statements (undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate)
• Essays and dissertations
• Fiction and nonfiction manuscripts
As a book formatter with years of experience in conventional print production and digital publishing, I combine my editorial acumen and extensive production experience to provide independent authors with a one-stop publishing experience. I can take a client’s unformatted manuscript and turn it into a polished, print-ready book (or ebook) that can then be uploaded to any print-on-demand vendor, such as Amazon KDP.
When I’m not copyediting or formatting books, I enjoy tutoring English as a second language (ESL). I specialize in American English pronunciation, English grammar, and personal statement coaching (for natives as well) and have worked with clients from a variety of backgrounds, including high school students, college students (all levels), and recent immigrants to the United States.
In addition to my professional experience, I am a member of several professional organizations, including ACES and the Northwest Editors Guild.
Hobbies and interests: sci-fi, philosophy, psychology, self-help, linguistics, Russian language, photography, photo editing, guitar, creative writing, yoga, mindfulness meditation, and cycling.
