Maudeline Plum Media

It is an honor and a pleasure to be considered as a writer or editor for your project.

My name is Jenny K. Gilman. I am happy to meet you and am excited to have a conversation about your writing project.

I am a master writer with an end-degree MFA; a well-honed storyteller and researcher who weaves art into your content. I specialize in these writing fields:

  • Medical, Journalism, Creative, Content, Social, Script, and Screenwriting.

My most recent project was writing content for Harvard Bioscience. I was rehired multiple times and completed each project with alacrity. I enjoyed the research, interviewing scientists, and being given the creative space to write using a cheeky voice with high-level science for scientists.

I can also write simply, converting complicated science into digestible bits for those who need information but have difficulty translating complex materials into useful, life-changing instructions. I have been focusing my strengths on the medical field as of late, though I’m happy to direct my creativity elsewhere.

If you’ll notice my smaller paragraphs above, I also understand the modern click-brain and can easily break storytelling into distraction-free formatting.

I love the mechanics of writing, especially for those who appreciate the craft and understand that thinking, planning, organizing, and structuring are all part of the process. I believe that careful crafting makes writing exceptional and enduring. I prefer writing to editing, but let us be honest, a great writer understands great formatting as we spend our lives seeking perfection. Therefore, I take on both jobs willingly and with grace.

I am a masterful editor. You’ve been working hard on your project. It doesn’t matter if you are an expert in the writing field, or if you are a novice, once you reach the final stages, your eyes cannot see what needs to be seen on the page anymore. I hope you consider me your confidant and guide to scouring the work you’ve poured yourself into for some time.

To those seeking creative help: I understand fiction from my English undergrad to my Master’s in Creative Writing degree, where I earned the valedictorian award in screenwriting. I have countless stories at every level, from polished and published to bottom-drawer pages waiting for the right pick-me-up.

My English: Linguistics bachelor’s degree gave me a firm foundation in grammar and style. I was an adjunct professor of psycholinguistics. I can edit a variety of work: academic submissions, magazine articles, screenplays, novels in any genre, television, film, and more. I have taught English as a second language, so if you need help polishing a translation into English, with vast language experience, I can do that too.

I was managing editor for a print and online magazine, so my eyes are experienced in smoothing, cleaning, and polishing details of others’ important work. You can trust me with yours.

From simple line editing to complex restructuring, I offer options. Whatever you have, throw it at me, and we’ll see how it sticks.

I believe the world is more beautiful with a variety of voices in it.  Let’s work together to have your voice ringing too.
