Have you written a book of fiction or nonfiction and are now looking for a freelance editor who is committed to helping you produce a quality manuscript? One that is not only as free of errors as possible, but the best written it can be?
I’m eager to work with writers of a conservative bent, from developmental editing to copyediting and proofreading. I am thorough, conscientious, accessible, easy to work with, and well-versed in the Chicago Manual of Style. I will not only spruce up your book and help you shape it, but can be your trusted adviser on literary matters. I am a longtime writer myself and know just what you’re up against.
Why should you trust me?
I’m an old-school-trained writer, reporter, and editor. I have been a freelance writer and editor for 26 years, and before that I was a full-time daily newspaper reporter and editor for nearly 8 years (I was an assistant Lifestyles editor and writer at the last paper I worked for, which had a weekday circulation at the time of 70,000). I have written hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles.
I am a currently a regular contributor of long-form essays to the New English Review, an online monthly journal of culture and politics. I also have a master’s degree in English from the University of Virginia, which has consistently been ranked as one of the top graduate programs in literature in the country. Besides the writers of the Old and New Testaments, my favorite authors are John Bunyan, Daniel Defoe, and Leo Tolstoy.
In short, I am a literary man through and through.
Please call or email me as soon as possible and let’s talk about my helping you produce the manuscript you and your readers want and deserve.
