The Biased Bibliophile Editing Services
The world needs to hear your story. I would be honored to collaborate with you in bringing the best version of your story to readers.
I currently offer the following services:
- Developmental Editing
- Copyediting
- Book Coaching
- Beta Reading
- Sensitivity/Authenticity Reading
- Queer Identities (Ace-spec [asexuality spectrum], Panromantic)
- Disability/Chronic Illness/Chronic Pain
- Mental Health (Anxiety, Depression, Agoraphobia)
- Neurodivergence (Autism)
- Plus Sized
I specialize in developmental editing for young adult science fiction and fantasy. In addition to working within the young adult age range, I work with materials intended for middle grade, new adult, and adult audiences. As well as science fiction and fantasy, I work with contemporary, historical fiction, horror, and mystery. Whether you’ve written a full-length manuscript or a short story, I’m eager to collaborate with you.
Likewise, I work with academics in the field of philosophy, specializing in bioethics, or medical ethics. I have one year of experience editing philosophical works, including journal articles and textbooks.
I am dedicated to amplifying queer, BIPOC, neurodiverse, disabled, fat, and other voices from historically overlooked communities. The world has ignored these voices for far too long, and these stories are ones we need the most. I myself am queer, chronically ill, neurodivergent, and fat.
About Me
In 2020, I graduated from Webster University with a BA in Philosophy, a certificate in Practical and Interdisciplinary Ethics, and a minor in Legal Studies. During my studies, I focused on medical and legal ethics.
After Covid-19 turned the world upside-down, I started reviewing Advanced Reader’s Copies of books, which ultimately led me to freelance editing. I completed the Copyediting Certificate through UCSD Extended Studies, and I’ve taken all three of the EFA’s Developmental Editing of Fiction classes.
I currently live and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. When I’m not editing or reading for fun, you can usually find me scouring the shelves at my local library; visiting my favorite indie bookstore, The Novel Neighbor; or meeting my favorite writers at author events. I also enjoy crocheting, crafting, cooking, and playing with my seventy-pound lap dog, Remi, who was named after the rat in the Pixar movie Ratatouille.
