I need to first say that I do NOT support the use of GenAI. GenAI learns by stealing from material that has already been produced. I believe that any artist’s work is sacrosanct and should never be “scraped” to train a program that will create new material. If you have used GenAI to write your manuscript, I am not the editor for you. But, if you have used traditional AI to, for example, check your spelling and grammar, contact me! To learn the difference between traditional AI and generative (Gen)AI, see this article:

I have a diverse academic background, with degrees in nursing and international studies/relations, and a Master’s in creative writing. I’ve worked in psychiatric nursing, women’s health, customer support, export, and medical editing. In each of my jobs, I have written, proofread, and edited all types of business and company documents. As a writer and freelance editor, my focus has been primarily in psychology, self-help, memoir, and short fiction.
My personal interests are as diverse as my academic background, ranging from animal care and behavior to photography and labyrinth walking. Having a wide range of interests has helped prepare me to work with all kinds of authors and many different subject matters.
If you have an essay, book, newsletter, company manual, or any other nonfiction or business draft you would like perfected before publication or distribution, please contact me. I also edit short stories and novellas. If you’re not sure what your next step should be or what kind of a review you need, I am happy to offer a free consultation to help point you in the right direction. I can provide line and copyediting (usually done together as a heavy copyedit), developmental editing for self-help, manuscript evaluations, and proofreading. I also do sensitive readings/analyses for fiction and nonfiction manuscripts that have characters or a focus on mental illness and neurological disorders.
