Brittany Morgan Editorial Services
I’m a developmental editor of fiction who specializes in East Asian fantasy novels (primarily Japanese) and short stories. I also edit historical fiction, paranormal romance, and more. Additionally, I offer translation and localization editing. I am extremely passionate about bringing diversity to these genres and the publishing industry as a whole, as I believe that is essential to elevate underrepresented voices, cultures, and storytelling techniques. I provide detailed evaluations with an emphasis on positive feedback, not just critique.
I’ve done formal editing work since 2012. While living in Japan, I edited translated copy for native fluency, everything from cultural education apps to novel summaries. My developmental editing experience has centered largely on fantasy and romance, with a focus on manuscripts rich in East Asian culture. I am comfortable working on 18+ manuscripts.
Outside of that, I have several years of experience working as a teacher, both in and outside the United States. I have worked as an Early Childhood Educator, a junior high school ALT, and an adult ESL tutor.
If you’re interested in any of my services, please don’t hesitate to reach out! My rates are in line with the EFA rate chart, and I charge on a per project basis with a 50% deposit before beginning.
I look forward to working with you!
