On February 4, the Los Angeles Area chapter held an informal social for members on the West Side, via Zoom. After a brief interlude in which member Lynn Varon gave an assist to co-coordinator Linda Ruggeri in wrangling a technological gremlin, the meeting was off and running. Everyone got a chance to introduce themselves. Each shared the kind of editorial work they do and the wins and challenges in their work. They discussed using tools such as Perfect It and macros as part of their process, and Linda’s announcement of Karin Horler’s presentation on TextExpanders generated a lot of anticipation for the next regular meeting on March 17. The non-agendized, free form meetup was fun and even included time for these book lovers to share what they were reading. The next social will be held April 14 for members in, around, or east of the San Gabriel Valley.
