The Florida Chapter of the Editorial Freelancers Association had a fun organizational meeting on Wednesday, July 10. We have a wonderful group of editors of varying genre specialties and degrees of editing services, and we are planning some fun and informational events.

We have decided to meet monthly – every third Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. Topics we hope to explore include setting fees, social networking for editors, working with independent authors, editing in the age of AI, new editing software, things you wish you’d known when you first started freelancing, and how NOT to get editing work — things that haven’t worked for specific people in specific cases.

Our next meeting will be on August 13, 2024. We will discuss how we find work and how we can set up a good referral network.
