EFA Houston Chapter: Much Ado About AI

AI feels nearly ubiquitous these days, with tech companies pushing AI-powered tools for every conceivable use case. Writers and editors, especially, are being bombarded with AI writing assistants and specialized software touting AI features. However, there are a lot of legal and ethical questions swirling around the AI issue, and creatives are pushing back against the semi-forced adoption of AI-assisted art and writing.
Join the EFA Houston Chapter as Tomeworks editor Anna Hawkins guides us through the AI weeds of:
- how generative AI models actually work
- the legal and ethical questions surrounding generative AI
- how to recognizing AI-generated content when (not if) it ends up in your inbox
- navigating client relations if you suspect their writing to be AI-generated
About Our Speaker

Anna is a co-host of Writers Lunch, a weekly online writing workshop, and a co-founder of Tomeworks, an editing collective dedicated to helping genre authors build better books.
