When the Board of Governors approved the FY2023 budget at our August 2022 meeting, we voted to remove the $35 processing fee that is currently charged to new members and lapsed members. We are excited to announce that as of September 1, 2022, no one will be charged a $35 processing fee when they join or rejoin the Editorial Freelancers Association. There are no additional changes to annual dues at this time. Dues remain $145 for one year and $260 for two years.

We recognize that the processing fee has served as a financial barrier to potential members and lapsed members who are experiencing hardship. We hope that removing it will be a step toward creating a more inclusive and welcoming organization. Please spread the word to your networks! 

We want to acknowledge and try to remedy the inequity for members who paid a join fee in the past year. Members who were charged the fee from September 1, 2021 to August 31, 2022 will be offered a $35 credit toward any EFA webinar or traditional or self-paced course. If you are eligible for this credit, you will be contacted separately in the coming weeks. We will not be issuing additional refunds or credits.
