Meet the New Leader of the EFA Twitter Team
Greetings from Sonnet, taking over from Harry David as Twitter team lead this month! Thank you to Harry for his help, and to everyone else for bearing with me as I learn the ropes.
Evelyn Duffy was our resident Tweeter for the month of December, and Victoria Sandbrook Flynn handled the Freelance Friday chat. Our Twitter reach continues to grow, and even over the busy holiday season we averaged three new followers every day. That’s fantastic!
The top Tweets last month for replies, impressions, engagement, AND click throughs to our member profile all came from the #EFAChat. The month’s chat, focused on resources to grow an editing business in the new year, seems to have been unusually popular.
Another very popular Tweet last month was one with an image that quoted Steve Martin. We know images are always great for Tweets, but this one did very well by all metrics. And a post advertising an upcoming copyediting class was the most retweeted.
One upcoming challenge we need to plan for is that Storify has shut down. We have used this service to compile and post links to our Freelance Friday chat transcripts, and we’re left without a good alternative. We continue to brainstorm and research our options there.
Thanks and Happy New Year!
Sonnet Fitzgerald
