Caylah Coffeen

Creative Cornerstones

Hello, I’m Caylah and I love everything about books and stories. I have a B.A. from Franklin and Marshall College where I studied Creative Writing and Film and Media. While there, I worked on the editorial team for our literary magazine, the Alumni Review. Since then, I have practiced a variety of writing and editing across the mediums of TV, radio, newspapers, social media, and fiction.

There’s hardly a genre I have not read, but sci-fi and fantasy novels are still the closest to my heart so I joined Monster Ivy Publishing as an editing intern, performing line, copy and acquisitions editing. I’ve also worked with Eschler Editing and completed substantive, developmental edits and manuscript assessments as a freelancer, which author testimonials have indicated are my greatest strengths.

“Caylah has a knack for spotting issues with the pacing or the ‘feel’ of a scene. Her comments are encouraging and helpful: instead of simply pointing out flaws, she makes sure to suggest improvements. She’s also good at including positive feedback and noting aspects of the story that really worked for her.”
– Galadriel C., author of The Case of the Dragon-Bone Engine

I also have an eye for digital marketing and have coached authors in how to use social media, build up their online brand, and run successful advertisements. Currently I work as the Marketing Manager for Monster Ivy, designing social media graphics, organizing promotional events, and more. This year I founded Creative Cornerstones in collaboration with a copy editor, cover artist, and layout designer with the hopes of providing a single place for authors to find all the resources they need before and after publication!

I would love to hear about your projects and offer a free consultation to determine how best I can meet your needs!
