Hillary Barry
I am a freelance line- and copyeditor with specialties across many genres. My areas of strength in the nonfiction realm include web content, academic essays and research papers, university journals, college applications, letters of recommendation or intent, education and training materials, light technical documents including instruction manuals, as well as blog posts and articles.
I have a Bachelor’s of Arts in Creative Writing from the University of Central Florida, with additional coursework in Business Writing and Technical Communications. I am an insatiable fiction reader, and am highly skilled in line- and copyedits of short fiction, poetry, and memoir. Industries in which I am especially well-versed include construction/renovations, mortgage, real estate, food and beverage, hospitality, airline, and travel.
I am certified by the Poynter-ACES Society for Editing, and I intend to apply to graduate school in the spring of 2023 under a concentration of Professional Writing and Technical Communications.
