I am a voracious reader, and happiness for me is a pile of books beside my desk. This interest combined with a Ph.D. in Anthropology (1991), and many years of graduate and undergraduate teaching and publishing fuels my academic editing business (Sandy Dog Books LLC). I am based in Kailua, Hawaii, but have explored many parts of the world, including the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. I have experience in editing books, articles, and theses, plus offer availability for consultation and support prior to the actual editing work. I am also sympathetic to the challenges of academics working in English-speaking universities whose first languages are not English. I can assist with “Americanizing,” or “Canadianizing” your work. My authored works are in the fields of anthropology, archaeology, geography, gender studies, health, Pacific studies, psychology, and sociology.
