Ruth E. Thaler-Carter is an award-winning freelance writer, editor, proofreader, desktop publisher and speaker who has been published internationally, nationally, regionally and locally in newspapers, magazines, newsletters, books and websites. She specializes in articles for and about associations and nonprofits, and in all aspects of newsletters, from concept through publication, including training and critiques. She is a fast, effective, accurate writer, editor and proofreader with a lively writing voice, wide-ranging network of resources, and sharp eye for details.

Thaler-Carter's motto is "I can write about anything!" TM and it's true: She has produced or handled articles and newsletters on everything from the decorative arts to the metric system, architecture, health and wellness, facilities management, landscaping, housing and real estate, waterfront development, education, contracting, communications and much more. She is also co-author of the popular book "The Who, What and Where of Elder Care (Lifebridge Health, 2005).

Thaler-Carter is active in the EFA as newsletter editor, workshop presenter and chapter coordinator. She is also active in the Association for Women in Communications, Society for National Association Publications and other professional organizations. She teaches freelance and editing/prooofreading and website classes at Rochester's Writers and Books, as well as for professional organizations in DC, NYC and Chicago.

In addition to her freelance business, Thaler-Carter also is co-owner of Communication Central (www.communication-central.com), which provides workshops and an annual conference in Rochester, NY.
